Fire Prevention Week wrapped up this past weekend and this year the City of Selkirk Firefighters brought along the Selkirk RCMP for their talks at local elementary schools.
This year’s Fire Prevention Week theme was smoke detectors – checking your smoke detector monthly and changing the detector’s batteries twice a year are recommended.
RCMP noted that it’s never to early to teach fire prevention. Cst. Human from the Selkirk RCMP reminded everyone that we all play a part in fire and crime prevention and to remember, matches and lighters are tools – not toys.
