On October 22, 2014, at approximately 2:05pm, Headingley RCMP received a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a semi-trailer and a car on Highway 3, between Sanford and Oak Bluff, Manitoba.
Police say that a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta was traveling north on Highway 3 when it drifted to the southbound lane, colliding with a blue 2010 Mack semi-trailer. The driver of the Jetta, a 26-year-old male from Winnipeg, was pronounce deceased at the scene. The driver of the semi-trailer, a 58-year-old male from Summerset,was not injured.
RCMP report that alcohol is not considered a factor in this collision. The RCMP Forensic Collision Analyst Unit is assisting in the ongoing investigation.
