Mennonite Heritage Village (MHV), in Steinbach, is pleased to announce the December 6th, 2014, release date for their newest publication, A Collected History.
This publication, co-authored by Andrea M. Dyck, Curator at MHV, and Roland M. Sawatzky, Curator of History at the Manitoba Museum, tells the story of the Russian Mennonites through the lens of material culture. In rich photographic detail, the book provides a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the diverse collections, activities, and architectural heritage that make the Mennonite Heritage Village unique. These artifacts, buildings, and living history serve as focal points for some of the major events that have shaped the history of this branch of Anabaptists over the last five centuries.
The Mennonite Heritage Village invites the public to celebrate this publication during the MHV 50th Anniversary year with two book launches. The first event will be at McNally Robinson Booksellers (1120 Grant Avenue, Winnipeg) on December 6 at 7pm. The second event will be in Steinbach at the Mennonite Heritage Village (231 PTH 12 North) on December 9 at 7pm. Refreshments will be served at both events.
A Collected History: Mennonite Heritage Village will be available at Village Books & Gifts, in person at MHV or online at www.mhv.ca, and at McNally Robinson Booksellers.
