On January 15, 2015, at about 7am, Souris RCMP and local emergency services responded to a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 10, about a half mile north of the river valley in the RM of Whitewater, Manitoba.

Police investigation revealed that a southbound semi-trailer collided with a northbound car. As a result of the collision, both vehicles were heavily damaged. The female driver of the car was taken to hospital with unknown injuries. The male driver of the semi-trailer was uninjured.

RCMP report that alcohol is not considered a factor in the collision and all those involved in the collision were wearing seatbelts. Road conditions are considered a contributing factor.

As a result of the collision, two other collisions occurred as vehicles were trying to slow down for the scene. These collisions were minor in nature with no injuries reported.

RCMP would like to remind the public when driving in winter that the posted limit is for ideal road conditions. If you must travel during bad weather, slow down and drive with caution.
