On January 18, 2015, at about 2pm, St-Pierre-Jolys RCMP and local emergency services responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of PR 29 East and PR 24 North in the RM of Hanover, Manitoba.
Police investigation revealed that a northbound pickup truck on PR 29 collided with an eastbound car on PR 24 at an uncontrolled intersection.
The driver of the car, a 28-year-old Grunthal man, along with his 23-year-old female passenger from Winnipeg, were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver and lone occupant of the pickup truck, a 53-year-old Grunthal woman, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
RCMP report that alcohol and speed are not considered factors in this incident and that all occupants of the vehicles were wearing seatbelts. Icy road conditions are considered a factor in the collision.
An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
