On January 30, 2015, at about 1:30pm, Moose Lake RCMP and local emergency services responded to a two-vehicle collision on Provincial Road 384 near the community of Moose Lake, Manitoba.
Investigation into the motor vehicle collision revealed that an SUV collided head-on with a car.
Police say that the driver of the SUV, a 47-year-old man, along with the passengers, a 4-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl, all from Moose Lake, were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries. The driver of the car, a 41-year-old man from Moose Lake, along with a 37-year-old male passenger from OCN and a 51-year-old male from Moose Lake, were declared deceased at the scene. A 42-year-old woman as well as a 34-year-old woman, both from Moose Lake, were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.
RCMP report that low visibility due to blowing snow is considered a factor in this collision. Alcohol and seat belt use have yet to be determined.
