On February 11, 2015, at approximately 10:30am, Falcon Lake RCMP responded to a collision on the Trans-Canada Highway near Barren Lake, at the turnoff to Falcon Lake, Manitoba.
RCMP report that two semi-trailers hit head-on and that debris was strewn across the highway as a result of the collision. Neither of the drivers, both men from out of province, were injured in this incident and no other vehicles were involved.
Police say that approximately half a kilometre west of the collision scene, another semi-trailer jackknifed, blocking the highway.
Road conditions were reported as icy with high winds, which is being considered a possible factor in the collision. Alcohol is not considered to be a factor.
An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
