On January 29, 2015, a local resident was sentenced in relation to an impaired driving incident dating back to September 29, 2014.
Police say that the driver, a 47-year-old Steinbach man, was stopped at 3:42pm and found to have a blood alcohol concentration over three times the legal limit. The man was sentenced to a fine of over $2,200 and a one year driving prohibition.
The Steinbach RCMP would like to remind the public that impaired driving remains the leading cause of criminal death in Canada. Should you encounter an impaired driver, please contact your local police department or 911.
