A Portage man has been arrested and is facing numerous charges connected to a recent hotel fire at the Midtown Motor Inn in Portage la Prairie.
On February 28, 2015, just before 7am, Portage la Prairie RCMP responded to a fire at the Midtown Motor Inn in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. The fire was contained and put out by the local fire department, but there was extensive damage to one particular area of the hotel.
On March 4, 2015, Portage RCMP arrested Jeffrey Kirkpatrick, 34, of Portage. Kirkpatrick has been charged with break and enter, arson and breach of undertaking. He was released from custody to appear in Portage Provincial Court.
