Investigation into a fire at a Steinbach business earlier this month has resulted in a Steinbach youth being charged with arson.

On June 2, 2009, members of the Steinbach RCMP were dispatched to a fire at the rear of Solomon’s Budget Furniture store located at 366 Main Street in Steinbach. The cause of the fire was determined to be two mattresses that were lit on fire resulting in damage to the exterior walls. Damages are estimated between $10,000 – $15,000.

Investigation into this matter has now resulted in one male youth (12 years of age) being charged with Arson. The youth will be appearing in Steinbach Youth Court.
