On April 17, 2015, at approximately 12:45pm, Steinbach RCMP responded to a hog barn fire, approximately five kilometers south of Highway 1 on Highway 12 in the RM of Ste. Anne.
Upon arrival of the scene, officers noted that the barn was fully engulfed in flames. It is believed that there were approximately 3,000 hogs in the barn.
RCMP report that the fire was out at approximately 3:30pm. It appears all the hogs perished in the fire and the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
