On May 6, 2015, just after midnight, Portage la Prairie RCMP responded to an armed robbery on Spruce Bay in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
Police say that a 22-year-old man was approached by a group of males as he was heading home. The man was threatened by the group to relinquish his belongings, but refused to turn over his personal property and continued home. As a result, the group chased him. One member of the group pulled out a machete-style weapon with a curved blade and threatened to strike the victim. The victim then turned over his personal belongings and at that point the group of males fled the scene.
The male with the machete-style weapon is described as Aboriginal, approximately 18-years-old, had a thin build and was wearing a black Adidas zip-up track suit with white stripes on the arms.
