Thompson RCMP along with the Fire and Emergency Services responded to a fatal motor vehicle accident on June 12, 2009 at 5:20 p.m., approximately 25 kms south of Thompson, Manitoba on the #6 Highway.

A southbound pickup truck crossed over into the north bound lane colliding with a northbound semi tractor trailer. The driver of the southbound pickup truck, has been identified to be Tyler Thomas McIvor (24 yrs) of Cross Lake, Manitoba. McIvor who was pronounced dead at the scene was the lone occupant of the vehicle. The driver of the semi tractor trailer unit was from Winnipeg and did not sustain injury.

Thompson RCMP are continuing the investigation into the cause of the accident.
