Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation reports the province will invest $16 million on three highway improvement projects that started this week, as part of the province’s $5.5-billion, five-year core infrastructure plan.
This week’s projects include:
South Central Region
- Continuing concrete rehabilitation of 10 kilometres on PTH 30 from 0.3 km south of PTH 14 to 10.6 km south of PTH 14. This $2-million project is being undertaken by Maple Leaf Construction and is expected to be completed by the end of June 2015, weather permitting.
Northern Region
- Continuing paving 31 km on PTH 6 from Devils Lake to 31 km north of Devils Lake. This $10-million project will be done by Nelson River Construction and is expected to be completed by the end of July 2015, weather permitting.
- Continuing paving 10 km on PTH 6 from 49 km north of Devils Lake to 60 km north of Devils Lake. This $4-million project is being undertaken by Nelson River Construction and is expected to be completed by the end of July 2015, weather permitting.
The annual road repair season is underway and motorists are reminded to slow down and drive safely when they see constructions signs and flaggers at the roadside. Drivers are required to reduce speeds to specific limits in construction zones under the Highway Traffic Act.
