The City of Steinbach’s community compost depots are now open for the season. Residents are encouraged to bring all compostable materials to one of the three depots operating every Saturday from 9am-3pm, until mid-October.
The compost depots are located at Woodlawn School (411 Henry Street), Stonybrook Middle School by the track (77 Lumber Avenue) and Deerfield Trail.
The material collected is composted and screened at the Landfill and used in the City’s parks and gardens. Compost is also available for the public to pick up at no charge. Residents are encouraged to use compostable yard waste bags.
