On June 16, 2015, just after 5am, Selkirk RCMP responded to a structure fire of an unoccupied apartment building on Mercy Street in Selkirk, Manitoba.
When officers arrived on scene, the apartment was fully engulfed and local fire crews were trying to keep the blaze from spreading to the adjacent apartment building. All occupants of the adjacent building were evacuated.
RCMP report that the original structure was completely consumed by the flames and is a total loss. The adjacent building sustained minimal damage and residents were permitted back inside the building later that morning.
There were no injuries reported in this incident and the Office of the Fire Commissioner is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
