On June 12, 2015, at approximately 6:45pm, Swan River RCMP received a 911 call of a possible shooting at a residence on Heyes Street in Swan River.
Officers from the Swan River RCMP attended the residence and located an 18-year-old Swan River male who had injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is currently listed in stable condition.
While officers secured the scene, information was obtained about a possible suspect who fled in a vehicle belonging to one of the residents. Later the same evening, police received a call of a vehicle fire north of Birch River matching the description of the vehicle taken from the residence.
A short time later officers located the suspect, 19-year-old Nikko Guiboche of Swan River, who was taken into custody without incident. He is facing numerous charges including attempted murder with a firearm.
Guiboche remains in custody until his next scheduled court appearance in Dauphin Provincial Court.
