Dauphin RCMP are very pleased with this year’s festival. During the course of the event, which hosted 12,000 participants, a total of only 15 calls for service were received. These calls included four assaults, four disturbances and one mischief complaint.
Countryfest’s security team did a great job managing complaints onsite and worked closely with RCMP. Any instigators were immediately removed from the site and their wristbands granting them access to the site were removed.
Over the course of the festival, RCMP conducted four Manitoba Public Insurance sponsored Checkstops on Highway 10 to monitor drivers coming to and from the festival. Approximately 1800 vehicles were checked. In total, police laid 23 traffic violation charges, four liquor control act charges, two Criminal Code Breach of Probation charges and suspended one driver.
Dauphin RCMP wanted to ensure the safety of all motorists and citizens on the roadways and were very pleased with the amount of compliance amongst the majority of our motorists.
