On July 17, 2015, at approximately 11:30pm, Steinbach RCMP along with Emergency Services responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 210, just east of Highway 404.

Upon arriving, a single male was located outside of the vehicle. He indicated that there were at least two others involved in the collision. Members of the RCMP and EMS searched the area, as well, other resources were dispatched to assist, including a Police Service Dog. After a 30 minute search, the male indicated to police that he was the only person in the vehicle.

Initial police investigation revealed that the driver lost control and hit a tree on the south side of the highway, causing extensive damage to the passenger side, front and rear of the vehicle.

The 22-year-old male driver was taken to Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach and later transferred to Winnipeg. His injures are believed to be non life threatening.

Highway 210 was closed for approximately four hours while Traffic Analysts attended and conducted an investigation into the collision. Alcohol has not been ruled out as a factor in this incident.
