On July 31, 2015 at approximately 8:30pm, officers from Powerview RCMP were called to a collision involving a single pickup truck and a pedestrian on Main Road in Manigotagan, MB.
Officers arrived at the scene and found several people on the road attending to the victim. Witnesses told officers that the driver of the pickup truck was waiting at a nearby business.
The victim, a 21 year-old male from Manigotagan, was transported to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver was not injured.
“While officers have ruled out speed and alcohol, they are still investigating to identify all possible contributing factors to this tragedy,” said Sgt. Bert Paquet of the Manitoba RCMP. “The driver, an 84 year-old Lac du Bonnet man is cooperating with our investigators.”
An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
