On August 11, 2015, at approximately 12:30am, officers from the Dauphin Municipal RCMP received a report that a 19-year-old Dauphin man had been stabbed and was in hospital suffering from a number of puncture wounds to his upper body.
Police investigators discovered that the victim and suspect were known to each other and had gotten in to an argument before the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim. The suspect then stole some of the victim’s property and fled the scene.
At approximately 4am of the same day, investigators, with the assistance of the RCMP Police Dog Service, located the suspect in Dauphin and arrested him.
RCMP report that 24-year-old Sidney Ryan Nepinak of Dauphin has been charged with robbery and aggravated assault and has been remanded in custody. He is scheduled to appear in Dauphin Provincial Court on August 18, 2015.
The victim was treated for his injuries and has since been released from hospital.
