The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are always recruiting and are looking for people from all walks of life to join Canada’s national police service, offering meaningful work, vast opportunities, the chance to serve across Canada and a career like no other.
As part of the RCMP’s recruiting efforts, RCMP recruiters in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northwest Territories and Nunavut partnered with the RCMP Academy, “Depot” Division, and sent 32 high-school students to the fifth annual youth camp from August 9-15. Eight students were from Manitoba.
A second camp was also added for Aboriginal students from August 16-22. Thirty-two students were represented with 10 from Manitoba.
Students were selected based on academic achievement and their interest in a career in policing. They will learn what it’s like to be a police officer in training through activities such as drill, driver simulation training, and tours of the RCMP Academy and the RCMP Heritage Centre.
