Two individuals are facing a number of drug-related charges after recently being arrested in Steinbach by local RCMP.

On August 28, 2015, members of the RCMP’s General Investigation Section conducted an investigation under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. As a result of this investigation, members of the Steinbach Detachment executed a search warrant at a residence on Carleton Drive in Steinbach. This Warrant resulted in a marijuana grow operation being dismantled. The street value of the drugs seized is estimated at $179,000.
RCMP report that as a result of this investigation, a 41-year-old woman and a 49-year-old man have been arrested for producing a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. Both individuals were released from custody on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
