On the morning of September 2, 2015, RCMP in both Roblin and Russell received reports that two golf courses had been broken into and items stolen.
Initial police investigation revealed that sometime overnight, Russell Golf Club and Roblin Golf and Country Club each had several sheds and lockers broken into. A large quantity of high-end golf clubs and bags were stolen from each location.
Further investigation led to a witness who stated that around dusk time, he observed a suspicious vehicle near the Roblin golf course who had several golf clubs inside it. He also observed a male walking away from the vehicle towards the golf course.
The vehicle, who has since been reported stolen from Red Deer Alberta, is described as a 1994 Dark Blue Chevrolet GMT-400, with Alberta plates BHJ1571. Investigators believe this vehicle was involved in the thefts at both locations.
