Portage la Prairie RCMP and Portage ambulance responded to a complaint of an assault at a residence on Dakota Tipi First Nation on June 20, 2009 at approximately 6:00 AM.
When police arrived at the residence, they located the victim, a 34 year old man from Dakota Tipi FN, who had suffered an upper body injury. The victim was transported to Portage General Hospital for treatment.
Police were able to identify and locate the suspect, who was arrested and held in custody to appear in court.
Maurice Pashe, 25 years old, was charged with aggravated assault and appeared in court on Monday, June 22, 2009 in Portage la Prairie.
