At approximately 6:45 am on June 24, 2009, Steinbach RCMP received a call of a serious motor vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of Highway 206 and 311.
A northbound mini-van on Highway 206 collided with a mid-size four door car traveling eastbound on Highway 311. The two occupants of the car were transported to Steinbach Bethesda Hospital where the female passenger succumbed to her injuries. The driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. The driver of the mini-van suffered minor non-life threatening injuries and was also transported to Steinbach Bethesda Hospital for further medical treatment.
The deceased is a 67 year old female from Winnipeg. No names will be released.
Steinbach RCMP along with RCMP Traffic Analyst are continuing their investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
