On October 20, 2015, Churchill RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in Churchill, Manitoba, where a total of four firearms, assorted shotgun and rifle ammunition and drugs were seized. Churchill RCMP were assisted by the National Weapons Enforcement Support Team (NWEST) from Winnipeg and the Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST) from Thompson.
Police say that three male youths, ages 17, 17 and 16, are being charged with numeours firearms related offences including possession of prohibited weapon with ammunition. RCMP report that two of the youths are also facing charges of assault causing bodily harm. One of the youths will also be charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking.
All of the youth have been remanded into custody and will be appearing in Thompson court.
