On October 24, 2015, at approximately 10am, Steinbach RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Brighton Lane across from the Clearspring Middle School in Steinbach.
Police investigation led to the arrest of 4 adult males. A search of the vehicle unveiled methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, numerous weapons, Canadian currency and evidence of trafficking methamphetamine.
The 21-year-old driver was released on a Promise to Appear with conditions related to the offences of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. One of the passengers, a 27-year-old man was released on a Promise to Appear with conditions related to the offences of possession of methamphetamine.
RCMP report that 23-year-old Tyler Myska was remanded into custody on charges of possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and numerous breaches of conditions imposed on him. Also remanded into custody was 20-year-old Jordan Friesen who is facing charges numerous drug and weapons related charges.
RCMP are advising the public that methamphetamine is becoming more and more prevalent within the community of Steinbach and surrounding areas. The police are very concerned that these type of dealings are occurring in such a proximity to where the young persons of our community are obtaining their education.
