On October 30, 2015, at 3am, Steinbach RCMP responded to a report of a robbery at the La Broquerie Hotel.

Police were advised that a staff member was assaulted while walking to deposit money in a safe. The male exited the building with a undisclosed amount of cash through the west hallway doors. Police Dog Service attended the scene but could not locate a feasible track.
Police investigation revealed that the suspect appeared to be approximately 6’4″ tall with a heavy build. He was wearing a white patterned hoodie, light coloured pants and running shoes. The suspect had his hood up and had a covering over his face.
