Steinbach RCMP recently received a report that the Manitoba Hydro compounds on Hanover Road and Keating Road had fixtures that were accessed illegally resulting in a quantity of copper wire being stolen. Police believe the incident occurred sometime between October 28 and November 2, 2015.
Police and Hydro are concerned about the theft as the act of removing the ground wire could have put any of Manitoba Hyrdo’s employees working in the area at risk of electrocution.
