On November 6, Steinbach RCMP stopped a 33-year-old Steinbach area man was driving an unregistered vehicle while being suspended from driving. The man subsequently was found to be highly intoxicated and was arrested and charged for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The man’s blood alcohol was 2.5 times the legal limit.
On November 7, at 12:17pm, Steinbach RCMP stopped a 19-year-old Steinbach area man who appeared to being driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated. The man was subsequently issued a suspension and his vehicle was towed. At 3:45am, Steinbach RCMP stopped a 27-year-old Winnipeg man who was observed to be driving erratically. The driver was found to be suspended from driving and highly intoxicated. He was arrested and charged for impaired operation and had a blood alcohol 2.5 times the legal limit. At 10:25pm RCMP observed a vehicle failing to stop for a red light. The vehicle was stopped and a 26-year-old man was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently issued a suspension and his vehicle towed.
On November 8 at 2:06am, RCMP responded to a report of an off-road vehicle rollover the RM of Piney. Police say that a 33-year-old Winnipeg man lost control of his vehicle and the subsequent crash injured himself and a passenger. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was issued a suspension. The female passenger was transported to Winnipeg for treatment of severe injuries. At 5:30am,RCMP were called to a crash in the RM of Hanover. The collision continues to be investigated and alcohol was a factor.
