On November 21, 2015, at approximately 2am, a member of the RCMP Thompson Detachment was involved in a shooting incident that resulted in the death of an adult male and serious injuries to an adult female.
The RCMP member involved in the shooting was taken to hospital for minor injuries sustained during the incident and has since been released.
As per established protocols, the Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU) was notified of the incident and in accordance with section 65(1) of the Police Services Act has assumed responsibility for the investigation.
