Project Devote investigators are launching an appeal to the public for investigative leads that could assist in bringing justice to the families of many missing and murdered exploited persons in Manitoba.

Starting November 30th, posters featuring missing and murdered exploited persons will be displayed on the exterior sides of Winnipeg Transit buses over a four-week period.

The bus posters make a direct plea to those who have information that could resolve the investigations:

  • Can you help find my killer? (featuring homicide victims in the 1980s and19 90s)
  • Do you know who killed me? (featuring homicide victims from 2001 to 2009)
  • Help bring them home (featuring missing persons from 1972 to 2008)

“Project Devote is committed to identifying the persons responsible for the tragic deaths and disappearances we are actively investigating,” said RCMP Sgt. Rob Lasson, a Project Devote Team Commander. “Each one of these victims was an individual whose presence is sorely missed by parents, siblings, children and friends.”

“Our ultimate goal is to bring justice to the victims and their families,” said Winnipeg Police Service Sgt. Shawn Pike, a Project Devote Team Commander. “The answers are out there. Someone needs to step forward and help provide some measure of solace to the victims’ loved ones.”

If you have information that can help with the investigations under the Project Devote mandate, call investigators on the Project Devote tipline at 1-888-673-3316. Valuable information could include previous contact or past knowledge of the victims, and could prove helpful to investigators. If you want to remain anonymous, you can call Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).

Project Devote is a provincial integrated task force of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Winnipeg Police Service focusing on missing and murdered exploited persons. Manitoba Justice has designated two prosecutors and a Family Liaison/Victim Services Worker to work with Project Devote.
