In the early morning hours of June 27, 2009, Bloodvein RCMP members responded to a request for assistance and discovered the body of a 12-year-old boy inside a residence in Bloodvein, Manitoba.
An autopsy determined that cause of deathwas blunt force trauma. Local RCMP along with RCMP Major Crime Services and the Winnipeg Forensic Identification Section investigated the homicide and have charged 18-year-old Tennessee Waylon Weedmark, also of the BloodveinFirst Nation, with 2nd degree murder and two counts of failing to comply with a recognizance.
Weedmark was remanded in custody and is to appear in court in Winnipeg on June 29, 2009.
