On November 29, 2015 at approximately 11am, Selkirk and Oakbank officers attended the intersection of Road 76 North and Road 35 East, in response to a two vehicle collision.
Preliminary investigation reveals that a southbound SUV collided with the driver’s side of an eastbound vehicle who had failed to stop at the marked intersection at Road 35 East.
Police say that a 54-year-old man from the RM of Brokenhead was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the SUV, a 55-year-old man, also from the RM Brokenhead, along with his passenger, were transported to local hospital and have since been released.
RCMP report that alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this incident. Traffic analysts are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
