Steinbach RCMP asking the public to report any suspicious behaviour as police investigate numerous reports of vandalism in the town of La Broquerie and the City of Steinbach.
During the evening of December 9 and the early morning hours of December 10, 2015, there were multiple incidents of vandalism in the town of La Broquerie. Police say that most of the vandalism occurred when several different vehicles had their windows smashed. There was also a notable case of vandalism to the outdoor nativity scene at the Catholic Church in La Broquerie, in which several of the figurines were broken and strewn about.
Steinbach RCMP also received reports of vandalism within the City of Steinbach including windows damaged by a pellet gun.
RCMP note that this is an excellent time to remind people of the need for additional COPP (Citizen on Patrol Program) members. Police say that this is a very good program run by a few very community minded individuals, but they need help. These crimes are a reminder that our communities are not immune to these crimes and everyone needs to work together.
If you have any information about these incidents you are asked to contact the Steinbach RCMP Detachment at 204-326-4452 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477. You can also submit a tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com or text TIPMAN plus your message to CRIMES(274637).
