A large influx of members and supporters of an outlaw motorcycle gang are expected to be in and around the RM of Rosser and the City of Winnipeg this weekend.
The Manitoba RCMP and the Winnipeg Police Service are committed to disrupting outlaw motorcycle gangs operating in our communities and will be closely monitoring all events and movements of their members and supporters.
“The Winnipeg Police Service is committed to the suppression of gang activity through intelligence led policing strategies”, said WPS Organized Crime Division Inspector Max Waddell. “These measures will ensure the safety of the citizens we serve.”
“Our presence will be felt, the RCMP and its policing partners will be out in force and visible throughout the weekend to ensure public safety and to enforce the law,” said RCMP Superintendent of Federal Policing, Len Del Pino. “Manitobans can be assured that appropriate resources are in place to maintain order. ”
The Manitoba RCMP will also be using Twitter to share information and keep the public updated during the weekend. “The people we serve have a right to know about issues happening in their communities,” said Sgt. Bert Paquet, RCMP Media Relations. “We believe it’s important to share updated information to enhance public safety and security.”
Motorists traveling on the West and North Perimeter Highway may notice an increased police presence and are reminded to slow down and move over for any police vehicle that is conducting traffic enforcement.
