On December 13, 2015, at approximately 2:30am, members of the Winnipeg Police Service were called to an establishment on Keewatin Street following a tip from the public indicating that one of the suspects from an earlier shooting in Grand Rapids was in the area.
RCMP report that 26-year-old Charles Kelsey Ballantyne of Selkirk was located and taken into custody by members of the Winnipeg Police Service Tactical Team without incident. He has since been transferred to the RCMP and been charged with aggravated assault, attempted murder without a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failure to comply with a probation order.
The second suspect, 22-year-old Alex Sanderson from Grand Rapids, remains at large and may be in Winnipeg. The public is asked to call 911 and not to approach the suspect if seen.
