The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) reminds Manitobans picking up parcels in the United States this holiday season to know the contents and the value of their parcels before re-entering Canada.
All travelers are responsible for the goods in their possession when they cross the border into Canada – regardless of whether or not the item belongs to them.
The CBSA is here to help and encourages travelers to:
- Know what you are picking up before you leave home
- Open parcels before arriving at the border
- Bring an extra copy of the purchase invoice along, as some shippers may not include one in the package
- Declare everything that you are bringing with you into Canada to the CBSA officer
