On December 15, 2015, at approximately 5:30pm, Selkirk RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 59 near St. Clements, Manitoba.
Initial police investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling north on Highway 59 near the junction of Highway 12 when it rear-ended a backhoe traveling in the same direction. According to witnesses, the backhoe appeared to have had the required operating lights on at the time.
RCMP report that the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, a 66-year-old man from Loon Straits, MB, was transported to hospital and later pronounced deceased.
