On the afternoon of December 22, 2015, Dauphin RCMP initiated an investigation regarding a recent break and enter at a residence in Dauphin, Manitoba.
The information gathered from witnesses led investigators to a residence on 2nd Avenue N.E. Officers attended the location and confirmed that the residence had been recently broken into.
While the first group of officers were investigating at the residence, patrols made by Ste. Rose du Lac officers successfully located the suspect vehicle along with an 18-year-old male from Ebb and Flow First Nation. The 18-year-old now faces criminal charges for possession of stolen property as well as failure to comply with a court order.
Police say that several items taken from the Dauphin residence, including electronics and sport equipment.
“While we never like to inform anyone that their residence was broken into, being able to let them know that a suspect was arrested is always good news,” said Sgt. Bert Paquet of the Manitoba RCMP. “Returning stolen property to their rightful owners is something we love to do, especially Christmas presents at this time of year.”
Officers are looking into the possibility of another individual being involved. The investigation into this matter continues.
