The Steinbach Arts Council is pleased to present an opening ceremony celebration for “Man and Nature” by Danielle Hiebert. The event is scheduled for January 13, 2016, at the Hall Gallery in the Steinbach Cultural Arts Centre.
Danielle Hiebert is a 25-year-old pencil sketching artist from the Steinbach area. She started taking an interest in drawing around the age of four. Growing up, she took one drawing class and a couple of water colour classes with local well known artist, Melanie Penner, but when it came down to it, she was self-taught and had her own style of sketching already at a young age.
All her life she has done sketches of portraits just from looking at a photograph and it has always been a hobby that she really enjoyed. Throughout the years, her main interest has always been drawing portraits of peoples’ faces. Now in the last couple of years, she has taken an interest in drawing animals. So far, her biggest achievement was a pencil sketching of “Robin Hood”, which won the “Peoples Choice Award” last year in the Southeast Opened Judged Exhibit.
The public is invited to the art exhibit opening November 18, with a reception to follow. The exhibit will remain open to the public until February 19, 2016.
