On January 6, 2016, at 6:30pm, Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant on a marijuana grow operation at a residence in the RM of McCreary.

As a result of the warrant, police seized 168 plants and a small amount of cut and dried marijuana. The Office of the Fire Commissioner attended as the electrical wiring for the growing equipment was found to be substandard and hazardous to the occupants of the residence.
RCMP report that 52-year-old William Burnett of the RM of McCreary was arrested and charged with production of marijuana. He has been released from custody and will appear in Dauphin Provincial Court on March 15, 2016.
