Portage la Prairie RCMP are asking the public for assistance in identifying a female suspect connected to a recent robbery incident.
On December 15, 2016 at 5:36am, Portage la Prairie RCMP responded to a report of a robbery. Police say that a Tulip Taxi driver attended a home in Portage la Prairie where he picked up four women. The driver was requested to drive to a residence on the Long Plain First Nation. Upon reaching the Yellowquill Trail on Long Plain First Nation, the occupants assaulted the driver, stole the vehicle and then fled the scene. Police found the vehicle abandoned a short distance from where it was stolen.
As a result of their investigation, the Portage la Prairie RCMP have arrested and charged one suspect with robbery. The investigators are asking for assistance from the community to identify another suspect, depicted in the composite sketch.
