Keystone Agricultural Producers’ 32nd annual meeting will take January 27 and 28 at the Delta Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The meeting will bring together producer delegates representing all farming districts of Manitoba to discuss current issues affecting the agriculture industry. They will present, debate and vote on policy resolutions that will set KAP’s course for the coming year.
The meeting kicks off on Wednesday with a presentation on succession planning, an often challenging family-farm issue. It will be followed by a farmer panel discussion on the same topic. The afternoon features a presentation on a Manitoba success story – Colleen Dyck of Niverville will talk about her journey creating and producing the GORP energy bar.
Highlights of Thursday include a presentation by Dr. Alan Levinovitz, author of The Gluten Lie, and a session on trade negotiations and agreements with Doug Forsyth of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
In between the guest speakers there will be delegate resolutions, networking and opportunities for interviews.
The meeting starts at 9:30 a.m. on January 27 and wraps up at 12:30 p.m. on January 28.
