On January 23, 2016, a two month-old girl passed away as a result of injuries first reported to RCMP on January 4, 2016.

The Manitoba RCMP Serious Crimes Unit, which has been leading the investigation since being notified on January 4, continues to investigate what is now a homicide case.

“This is the saddest of tragedies for the community and all Manitobans.” said Sgt. Bert Paquet of the Manitoba RCMP. “Based on our investigation to date, we can say that other children are not at risk. While we understand that a lot of questions are being asked about this case, our focus remains on the investigation in order to bring answers to the community.”
