On Monday March 7, 2016, at about 12pm, Selkirk RCMP were called to a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Main Street in the City of Selkirk. The incident occurred near Daerwood School.
Police investigation revealed a northbound vehicle struck a 76-year-old female pedestrian at a cross walk. Both the vehicle and the pedestrian were located at the scene. The 76-year-old female from Selkirk was transported to hospital and later succumbed to her injuries. The two occupants of the vehicle were unharmed.
A traffic analyst attended the scene and is assisting the ongoing investigation in order to establish the contributing factors of this collision. At this time, alcohol is not being considered as one of them.
