On March 15, 2016, just before 9am, Carman RCMP officers were called to a head-on collision involving two vehicles on Highway 3 near Road 17N in the RM of Stanley.

When officers arrived on scene, the two vehicles involved in the collision, a pickup truck and a car, were located on Highway 3.

RCMP report that a 54-year-old Winkler woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck, an adult male also from Winkler, was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both were the sole occupants of their vehicles.

A traffic analyst attended the scene and is assisting the ongoing investigation in order to establish the contributing factors of this collision.
