On March 27, 2016, shortly after 11pm, RCMP officers responded to a collision between a transport truck and a vehicle on Highway 16 by Macdonald, Manitoba.
Police investigation so far has confirmed that the vehicle crossed over the centre line and struck the back end of the transport trailer. The driver of the vehicle, an 18 year-old male from Winnipeg, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the transport truck did not suffer any injuries.
RCMP report that alcohol was not a factor in the collision and that other possible contributing factors are being investigated. A Traffic Analyst attended the scene and is assisting the ongoing investigation.
