On April 3, 2016 at approximately 8:34pm, Selkirk RCMP received a call of an assault within a home in the City of Selkirk, Manitoba.
Officers immediately responded to the scene and found an 88-year-old man and an 85-year-old woman inside the home. Both had been seriously assaulted and were suffering from injuries.
Shortly after the initial call for assistance, a second call for service was received by Selkirk RCMP of a suspicious male walking within the immediate area. Officers attended and arrested a male suspect in relation to the assaults.
RCMP report that both victims were transported to hospital and are currently in stable condition.
Officers from the Selkirk RCMP Detachment along with the RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services are assisting in the ongoing investigation.
